The ambition of this volume is to show that there are trajectories that connect Central and Eastern Europe to Italy without any French mediation. It is based on a specular alternation between Italianists and Slavists, historians and literary figures. The periods studied are the Renaissance, the 19th century, the period preceding fascism and fascism itself, then the 20th century, from the Revolution of 1917 to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
